At the end of the practical student should be able to demonstrate the synthetic procedure of organic compounds and determine the yield, % yield and  melting point of the synthesized compounds Preparation and purification of 1,3-pyrazole, 1,3-oxazole, Benzimidazole, Benztriazole,Benzocaine, Phenytoin, Phenothiazine,
Barbiturate.

2 Assay of drugs
Chlorpromazine,

Phenobarbitone,

Atropine,

Ibuprofen,

Aspirin,

Furosemide.

At the end of the practical student should be able to demonstrate the assay of Chlorpromazine,
Phenobarbitone,
Atropine, Ibuprofen, Aspirin,
Furosemide etc. in order to determine the percentage of a given sample
To perform the drug assay of the following compounds Chlorpromazine, Phenobarbitone, Atropine, Ibuprofen, Aspirin and Furosemide. Hands on practical session 4 hrs/ WEEK
3 Determination of Partition coefficient for any two drugs At the end of the practical student should be able to demonstrate the Partition coefficient of organic compounds and to know the significance of partition coefficient for absorption of drug molecules Find out the  partition coefficient of given sample of drugs Hands on practical session 4 hrs/ WEEK
